In Peru there is a chapter on the design of non-structural elements. However, this standard is very general, for example, there is no specific standard that regulates the design of supports for facilities that could contribute to the safety of people, as well as the continuity of services in the event of an earthquake. The objective of this research project is to propose an earthquake-resistant support design for installations in a building. The research was based on designing two options for supports, option 1, is a 2” x 1” U-type channel metal structure, both horizontal and vertical, and option 2, is a 42mm x 20mm unistrut rail in the horizontal part and threaded rod. 3/8” in the verticals with diagonal reinforcement on both sides with 3/8” threaded rods. The design of the support was carried out with the help of AutoCAD software, where the initial idea was captured and subsequently the calculations were carried out in Excel in accordance with chapter 6 of the NTP. E.030 Earthquake Resistant Design, the computer simulation was carried out with SAP2000. Based on the results obtained, the following general conclusions were reached: The two design proposals have less displacement with respect to the existing design, which indicates that the proposal is successful.
