In this investigation, effluent parameters of an Industrial wastewater treatment plant belonging to a Food and Beverage Manufacturing Facility were analyzed, with the aim of proposing an upgrade in the wastewaters treatment through the application of Ozone (O3), granular activated carbon and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). This analysis had a length of three weeks, this means, a sample was collected per week for the application of the alternatives proposed in both, a dependent and independent way. After that, 7 essays were made on the collected sample, on whom the following solutions were applied: O3, granular activated carbon, H2O2, H2O2 + O3, granular activated carbon + O3, H2O2 + granular activated carbon and H2O2 + granular activated carbon + O3. The average results have shown that the independent application of granular activated carbon (alternative 02) removed up to 95% of the Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), as well as a reduction of turbidity by 40% and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) by 21%, which, in comparison with other alternatives, offer significantly better results. Moreover, with this information, an estimate of the investment for 1 year of implementing a system based on granular activated carbon filters is cheaper by S/ 52 934.50 in comparison to the second alternative with good removal conditions. These results imply more economic and environmental benefits to the company.
