The advancement of microelectronics has generated a constant evolution in consumption measurement equipment (electricity, water, gas). For electricity distribution companies, this advance, accompanied by the communications boom, has resulted in the update to the use of smart metering systems, which are mainly composed of smart meters and wired (PLC) or wireless communication technologies (radio frequency or cellular mobile network). These systems seek to reduce non-technical losses presented by distribution companies, which until today turned out to be events that were not easily controlled or monitored by distributors. In Peru, promoted by OSINERGMIN, the deployment of the first pilot projects of smart metering systems is beginning, which seek to reduce these non-technical losses and at the same time provide the end user with a closer experience with distribution companies; For this reason, currently each distribution company in the country must present within the next 4 years the results obtained from its installed pilot projects and define the best communication technology that adapts to its geography and reality. This work presents the project plan proposed for the “Implementation of an intelligent measurement system with G3-PLC technology for the distributor Electro sur este S.A.A. in the city of Cusco.” Considering a general project development scheme, but not the implementation stage.
