Mining is a critical industry in the field of occupational health and safety (OHS) given that high risk activities are carried out. Therefore, there is a need to look for alternatives for the OHS management focused on the implementation of controls adapted to critical processes in order to reduce the occurrence of incidents, dangerous incidents, work accidents and occupational diseases. The purpose of this research is to propose an Occupational Health and Safety Management System model to improve the performance of the mining contractor company Mining Company Service, which provides leaching services in mines in southern Peru. So that the applicable legislation requires organizations to adopt a vision of risk prevention focused on continuous improvement process, it was considered convenient to propose a model in which the company's Occupational Health and Safety Management System adapts to the guidelines established in the Standard ISO 45001:2018. The present work consisted in the identification of the critical areas of the organization, as well as the establishment of the baseline of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System. Likewise, compliance with the applicable legal requirements was determined and evaluated. Finally, a Management System model based on the ISO 45001:2018 Standard was proposed, adjusting the existent management processes of the corporation to the requirements of the standard, legal regulations and the client demands.
