The process of cost estimation and design of an economic proposal requires new methodologies that can be innovative and allow optimizing times within these processes, whether developed by the project area of a mining company or within the bidding area of a specialized contractor. In the case of economical technical design of chimneys with Raise Boring equipment, this process is more complex because specialized equipment is used in its development. The importance of these tasks lies in the fact that they are necessary for activities such as ventilation, the passage of material and personnel, in addition they are also connection tasks and necessary for the installation of pipes for auxiliary services such as water, compressed air, hydraulic filling, etc. In this sense, it is of vital importance that both the mining company and the specialized contractors have cost estimation methodologies that make the development of these tasks viable, competitive, and profitable for both parties. With the objective of contributing to reducing deviations related to cost estimation during the design stage of Raise Boring type chimneys, this research presents an alternative cost estimation proposal based on the Lean Six Sigma methodology. The chosen technique is because it’s application in similar processes generated positive results, which are intended to be extrapolated to the cost estimation process for the development of these tasks. The analysis of the variables required in the cost estimate allowed us to adjust the calculations and obtain a more assertive cost estimate.
