The aim of this study is to review if the project “payment against reservation with manual sending of payment link” was the most suitable alternative to optimize the appointments system and reduce the No Show rate at Delgado Clinic. The paper’s approach is qualitative, which involves the collection of information about the context of the problem, the use of internal data from the clinic and a documentary review of indexed papers. It was obtained that, in the first quarter of 2023, in which the project was implemented, the NPS score increased by 4 percentage points (pp), while the No Show rate decreased by 2pp and the average queue waiting time decreased by 0.7 minutes, compared with the last quarter of 2022. To conclude, due to short-term needs, the chosen strategy was the best solution, because it increased the amount of digital scheduled appointments, reduced the queue waiting time, and improved the management of appointments and No Shows, which implies that, this alternative allowed Delgado Clinic to improve its metrics compared with the quarter prior to the implementation, since it required a shorter implementation period. However, this solution is not sustainable over a long period, for the reason that it involves manual processes, so it is suggested to invest in data automation with a SITEDS button, integrate a reminder system with AWS and migrate the current admission flow to a system which does not need queues, thus, the patient will perceive a greater benefit from paying in advance the appointment.
