In this work, the water balance of the Ica River basin is determined using time and volume reliability indices. The geomorphological parameters are known through the development of the hydrographic basin in the ArcGIS software. With this, it was possible to determine that the Ica River basin has an area of 8063.57 km2, a perimeter of 467.25 km and that it is a sedimentary type of basin and that it is at the old age phase. Information was collected from 9 hydrometeorological stations, which are in the delimitation of the hydrographic basin, from which data on precipitation, temperature, wind, and historical flows was downloaded. All this data was obtained from 3 representative institutions such as: the National Water Resources Information System (SNIRH), the National Meteorology and Hydrology Service of Peru (SENAMHI) and the Data Analysis and Statistical Resources of Water (ANDREA). These extracted data were not complete for the range of years with which we seek to work (1965 – 2018), therefore, the missing data had to be completed with the help of the HEC-4 program. Using this new rainfall history, monthly rainfall at the centroid had to be calculated for each of the 9 sub-basins into which the Ica River basin was divided. To determine these precipitations, the Hydraccess program was used. To determine the water balance that will be developed through the hydrological modeling of the Ica River basin in the WEAP software, you must have all the previously mentioned data, and, in addition, have the demand data, which for the present the study will use agricultural and population demand. The water balance will be qualified using time and volume reliability indices. Where, for the volume reliability index a value of 89.45% was obtained and for the time reliability index a value of 75.31% was obtained. To consider the reliability indices as good, values greater than or equal to 90% and 80% respectively had to be obtained. These values determined in the water balance correctly define the situation, since in the hydrographic basin there is a monthly average water deficit of 79.89 million cubic meters (MMC) for the range of years initially defined.
