The objective of this work is to demonstrate the importance of the implementation of Lean Manufacturing tools to improve the operational efficiency of the production system of a PYME metalworking services company in Lima, so that this improvement is reflected in the usefulness of the company's services. company. PYMEs in the metalworking sector are growing considerably due to market demand. However, the PYME under study has had disorderly growth, since by seeking to meet the requirements of its clients and comply with agreements on time, they have developed poorly structured production planning and control and have prioritized their experience for the development this; which has generated improvisation, presence of waste and incorrect decision making. To address this problem, Lean Manufacturing tools were implemented to improve the organization and order of the work area, reducing the time it takes to change tools, and increasing the efficiency of processes and production. We worked with Lean tools: 5S applied to the order and classification of warehouse tools and cleaning of the work area; SMED focused on reducing machine preparation and change times for production and standardizing processes to improve workflow. The implementation of the aforementioned tools was carried out in the PYME company in the metalworking sector specialized in the manufacture of metal structures and the results of the production process were compared before and after the implementation of the Lean tools, as a result of the implementation an improvement was obtained of 7% in its operational efficiency.
