The Armed Forces Procurement Agency (ACFFAA) is a public agency responsible for the procurement of goods and services for the Peruvian Defense Sector. Founded in 2014, ACFFAA was facing problems in its contracting processes, which affected its efficiency and transparency. Prior to the implementation of the Integrated Procurement Management System (SIGCO), ACFFAA was experiencing delays in process management, lack of efficient communication, complexity in contracting, average scores in user satisfaction surveys, and lack of traceability in procedures. To address these problems, ACFFAA implemented SIGCO, an integrated procurement management system comprised of six modules. The system was developed internally and implemented progressively, encouraging the participation of those responsible for the processes. In addition, it was adapted to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The system used a variety of technologies, including Linux servers, Java, Oracle databases and specific development tools. Its implementation was done with a focus on interdepartmental collaboration and staff training to ensure its success and sustainability. The implementation of the integrated system brought benefits such as reduced service times, information traceability, real-time information, and more fluid communication. Internal and external users were more satisfied, and quality scores increased by an average of 20%. It should be noted that this implementation was recognized as a good practice in public management in the category of efficient public procurement by the technical team of Ciudadanos al Día (CAD).
