The objective of this thesis is to increase the bearing capacity of the pavement structure using Geogrid NX850-FG, km 03+360 of the Santa Clara highway in the province of Maynas in the department of Loreto was considered as a study sample. This problem was developed to improve the low-capacity foundation lands in sections where the physical characteristics of the soil require improvements, due to the low resistance of the clay soil, this being a major problem for the community and for users in general. This study consisted of the application of the AASHTO 93 design methodology in its natural state and the use of the Tensar software with the application of the geogrid to determine the design of the pavement structure, in order to ensure adequate improvement. From the results, an increase in the support capacity of the subgrade and an adequate thickness of the structural layer was obtained compared to the results in the natural state, where the thickness of such improvement was 19cm with a CBR at 1%, adding that using this material optimizes the execution time, reduction in cost and labor.
