In the context of the e-commerce boom, El Peruanito SAC, a wholesale toy retailer with over two decades of experience, has undertaken a comprehensive analysis of its organizational capabilities to successfully implement an e-commerce channel while maintaining its core objectives. Throughout its history, the company has maintained a face-to-face focus on product presentation and negotiations, resulting in strong relationships with its customers and sustained success in its transactions with Chinese suppliers. However, faced with the growing importance of e-commerce, as supported by national reports and regional studies, El Peruanito has recognized the need to adapt to new market trends. Three alternatives for incorporating e-commerce were considered: self-management, fulfillment, and last-mile delivery. After a thorough comparison of these alternatives using Multiple Attribute Decision Analysis, the implementation of last-mile management emerged as the most favorable option. This choice not only promises to advance the organization's market trends, but also preserves strong customer relationships, which are essential to its business model. However, it is crucial to consider the opportunities that this implementation entails, such as the evaluation of a business unit focused on the logistics chain and a long-term analysis of this option based on the available infrastructure.
