The main purpose of this study is to enhance the profitability of a pharmaceutical company in Peru by reducing costs in its procurement process, particularly by eliminating intermediaries in the supply chain. The pharmaceutical industry, engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of medicines, faces challenges related to costs and supply chain efficiency. The study begins with a comprehensive review of the background of the pharmaceutical sector in Peru to gain a deep understanding of the current situation and opportunities for improvement. Additionally, a detailed analysis of the pharmaceutical company under study is conducted to identify specific areas that can benefit from the removal of intermediaries in the supply chain. The theoretical framework provides the conceptual and strategic foundations for the implementation of cost-reduction strategies, emphasizing the importance of supply chain management and the elimination of intermediaries in logistics. Moreover, the relevant legal bases and regulations within the pharmaceutical sector in Peru are explored to ensure compliance throughout the project. The project's development involves the implementation of specific measures to eliminate intermediaries in the supply chain, such as reevaluating suppliers and engaging in direct negotiations with drug manufacturers. It is anticipated that these actions will lead to a significant reduction in acquisition costs and, ultimately, improve supply chain efficiency, contributing to increased profitability for the pharmaceutical company in Peru.
