The present paper has been carried out with the purpose of presenting a case study addressing a data management issue within a well-known global audit firm, referred to as one of the “Big 4”, with operations in Peru. This firm exhibits a weakness in lacking a timely data processing system that would enable the generation of periodic reports facilitating relevant decision-making based on the analysis of key data from various functional areas, specifically compiles, analyzed, and reported by the finance department. In this regard, academic research on data management related to Business Intelligence and various techniques for generating dynamic reports in the form of dashboards or monitoring boards of key performance indicators and operational results within a specified time frame are considered. Various data modeling methodologies are compared, with the data star model being identified as the best option, applied to the Power BI tool for its potential implementation within the firm. This approach aims to provide a short and medium-term solution to the issue of timely visualization of profitability and management KPIs.
