This thesis tackles the prevalent issue of the Glasston furnace's diminished availability at AGP Peru, a circumstance significantly affecting the production line's efficiency due to recurrent failures of components and designs in mechanical, electrical, and software components. The overarching aim is to elevate the furnace's reliability by 5%, employing Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and refining the preventive maintenance plan, aligning it with the ISO 55001 asset management standard. Specific goals encompass the deployment of an FMEA matrix to discern NPR > 100, the standardization of the preventive and predictive plan, and a 50% enhancement in the time between failures, all while ensuring the annual maintenance cost doesn’t surpass 5% with the incorporated enhancements. Success indicators include increased furnace availability, diminished unscheduled downtimes, and maintenance cost management, validating the efficiency improvements relative to costs. This multidisciplinary approach aspires to answer the engineering and methodological considerations necessary to tackle and rectify recurrent failures and advance the equipment's availability and reliability, thereby making a positive impact on the company’s MPS adherence.
