Population growth in the city of Lima requires taller and more earthquake-resistant buildings, because the Peruvian coast is subject to a high seismic hazard, which requires greater control of the seismic response in the structures. Currently, there are more than 50% of Peruvians who live in areas of high seismicity and face constant seismic events, so the structural safety of buildings has an important value in the country's progress. Consequently, it is necessary that buildings be designed and built in accordance with current Peruvian regulations in order to safeguard human lives and reduce structural damage to buildings. In this research, a 7-story reinforced concrete multifamily building was designed that is located in the district of San Isidro-Lima. From the architectural plans, the structuring and pre-sizing of the structural elements was proposed. Subsequently, the three-dimensional model of the building was made in the Etabs software and the dynamic modal spectral seismic analysis was carried out in accordance with Standard E030 for Seismic Resistant Design. After analyzing compliance with the minimum requirements of Standard E030, the main structural elements such as lightweight slabs, beams, columns and plates were designed in accordance with the guidelines of Standard E060 for Reinforced Concrete. The results obtained were validated by structural design ratios; finally, the plans of the designed elements were drawn.
