The mining sector constitutes a crucial economic industry in any country engaged in this activity. In the Peruvian context, this activity largely unfolds in rugged and hard-to-reach regions. Faced with such a challenge, it is worth considering that each mining unit should have a centralized logistics system that manages inputs and products to maintain operational continuity. However, the geographical location of these mining operations presents a threat that should not be underestimated: fires. These events carry not only material risks but also risks to human lives, given the difficulty of access and attention in remote areas. Being aware of these risks, it is necessary and vital to take preventive measures to effectively prevent and/or control such incidents. To address this issue, having a fire protection system is mandatory, and the goal should be not only to reduce and mitigate the devastating impact of a fire but also to efficiently intervene for its elimination. Hence arises the proposal to design a directional fire detection and alarm system, in accordance with the NFPA-72 standard, specifically tailored for warehouses within mining units. This system will not only protect the company's assets and human lives but also ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of the mining unit.
