The Chilca aquifer is a natural hydrological resource that is underutilized in the lower sectors of the river basin that shares its name. Currently, it is primarily dedicated to agricultural use in certain areas of the upper basin, which has not significantly impacted the exploitation of the aquifer. However, to date, areas like the Chilca district itself, Pucusana, Lurín, and Mala require the groundwater for domestic use. The issue at hand is whether the exploitation of the aquifer is feasible and will not lead to its depletion. The document aims to determine the aquifer's recharge using the WEAP software and compare it to the domestic demand in the studied areas. Therefore, we address the question: ¿Is the utilization of the Chilca aquifer accessible in the face of an impending increase in domestic and agricultural consumption? For this purpose, an explanatory research approach was used, given the principle of causality applied in the program, and an analytical approach based on the numerical results obtained. Additionally, relevant literature and past studies conducted by the National Water Authority (ANA) were referenced. Subsequently, it was found that the aquifer recharge has a value of 2,822 MMC/year, while the demand reached 7,577 MMC/year, resulting in a deficit between recharge and exploitation balance. Therefore, it is recommended to extract groundwater in volumes equal to or less than the aquifer's recharge.
