The main purpose of this research was to carry out a hydrological assessment and propose improvements regarding a water harvesting project that has already been executed in the Acos Vinchos district, province of Huamanga, Ayacucho region, for the Accocunca and Ccanccahua micro-watersheds. First, the validation of the hydrological study presented in the project's technical report was conducted with a new one to verify the accuracy of the calculated data (ofert, demand, water balance) and confirm the storage volume. Therefore, quantitative indicators were proposed to determine the volume that would be stored during periods of high water flow (November - March) in the micro-watersheds for use during dry periods (April - August). Additionally, a water balance was performed to determine the monthly water requirements for the Qochas. Then, an improvement proposal for the distribution of water resources was presented in order to make the most of it during the dry season planting. Consequently, an adjustment of plots adjacent to the Qochas was carried out, suitable crops for the study conditions were selected, and the implementation of sprinkler irrigation was proposed, as it combines uniform irrigation and lower implementation costs, achieving a net water resource efficiency of 75%. Finally, a hydraulic sizing of the irrigation system was carried out, specifying the main components used for sprinkler irrigation of selected crops (potatoes, quinoa, and king grass).
