This document analyses the relationship between soil classifications, and uses the SUCS system methods and the results of the Proctor compaction test in different areas of Cajamarca - Peru. The main objective is to understand the geotechnical characteristics of soils in the region and create a useful geotechnical database for future construction and urban development projects. In addition, it focuses on the influence of activities in Cajamarca such as mining, construction, among others. Mostly granular soils (gravel and sand) and cohesive soils (clay and silt) are found and the SUCS system is used for their classification. A classification relationship is collected, evaluated and developed between the results of the Proctor compaction tests. The importance of soil classification in civil engineering is highlighted to obtain efficient results in projects in areas such as geotechnics, construction, among others. It is also mentioned that well graded materials tend to have a more coherent and predictable classification compared to poorly graded ones. The results of the tests and their relationship with density and humidity are presented to understand the geotechnical characteristics of the soils of Cajamarca and provide relevant information for the classification and development of projects in the region.
