The drinking water system is an important service to improve the quality of life of citizens in Urban and Rural areas. For this reason, the main objective of this research is to improve the water supply in the town of Santa Maria de Panacocha. To do this, it begins with the validation of the problem through socioeconomic surveys and the diagnosis of the existing system. Next, the tentative layout of the 3 distribution line alternatives is made. Which are designed and modeled using engineering programs such as Civil 3D, Excel and WaterCAD. Then, the cost analysis is carried out only considering only accessories and pipes. Likewise, the operation of the options is evaluated taking into account the pressures in the nodes and flows at the end of the pipeline. As a result, alternative No. 1 is the optimal option. Continuing, a comparison of the design is made with the existing line in the area, where there are considerable benefits such as a 24-hour service with sufficient water, adequately distributed pressure breaker chambers and the entire population would benefit. Finally, the design is reviewed by Engineers who have years of experience in the field of sanitation and hydraulic works, resulting in FAVORABLE results. Likewise, it was concluded that the research had good results in the evaluation of alternatives to balance the supply and demand of drinking water in the town.
