The main objective of this study was to propose effective strategies such as demand responsive transport (DRT) to improve the frequency and punctuality of the public transport system in the Purple Corridor of Lima, Peru, to optimize its efficiency. A mixed approach involving the analysis of numerical and non-numerical data, such as interviews and observations, was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of the perception and experiences of users and other key actors regarding punctuality and frequency in public transport. The level of research was descriptive, seeking to describe in detail relevant variables and phenomena, with special attention to the current operation of public transport, including frequency and punctuality. A documentary and field research design was used, involving thorough analyses of documents and records, along with in situ observations. The public transport system of the Purple Corridor was characterized with specific data, such as the number of services (5), route length (25 km), bus frequency (every 15 minutes), bus speed (25 km / h), daily passenger demand (100 thousand) and vehicular traffic (100 thousand vehicles per day). The proposed strategies were based on this data and focused on peak hours, identifying vehicle availability increases of 30% during the morning (07:00) and 35% during the afternoon (19:00). In addition, travel times were optimized, achieving substantial reductions in key stations.
