In various parts of the world, unstable soils are problematic because their behavior of the components that compose them has the tendency to present undesirable properties for the implementation of roads, such as low load capacity, swelling characteristics and high contraction. Peru has soils with a variety of topography and climates, these factors influence the generation of unstable soils with low support capacity, due to which they cannot be used as a subgrade layer in pavements. With the advancement of engineering, ways have emerged to stabilize the soil through the use of chemical additives such as Terrasil, Proes, which because they have bituminous hydrocarbons and sulfates among their components, act by improving its permeability and increasing its support capacity. Considering the tests carried out on the soil extracted from the pit characterized as SM, the texture of the pale reddish Terrasil was appreciated. The addition of the chemical additive considering the tests carried out in this research showed that the optimal percentage is given when adding Terrasil + 3% cement; It can be seen that in comparison with the standard soil it increases the CBR by up to 36.2%, and in comparison to the minimum established by the standard it increases up to 29.6%.
