Throughout this Professional Sufficiency Work, topics related to the resolution by the Constitutional Court in STC Exp. No. 02027-2021-PA/TC will be addressed, in this judgment, the impact of internal police regulations on the fundamental right to personal development is analyzed in the context of the use of tattoos by police officers. In the first chapter, the main facts of the judgment, additional legal arguments, a singular vote, and its respective critical analysis will be described. Next, in the second chapter, the foundational concepts of the most relevant points of the mentioned judgment will be discussed, such as: The including the right to personal development, tattoos, police disciplinary regulations, and the institutional image of the National Police of Peru. This chapter will draw from various national and international bibliographic and jurisprudential sources that have enriched the understanding of the developed concepts. Finally, the third chapter conducts a reflective analysis of police regulations regarding the infringement on the right to personal development of their applicants and active members due to the fact of having tattoos. It also includes the conclusions and recommendations presented by the authors.
