This thesis analyzes pedestrian mobility in a neighborhood of the Historic Center of Lima; through the evaluation of the accessibility of sidewalks and the pedestrian level of service (PLOS) of the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM2016) methodology to then propose the adaptation to a Superblock in order to improve pedestrian traffic in this important area. To carry out the proposal, it was necessary to delimit and collect data from the CHL neighborhood, this data allowed to evaluate the accessibility to the sidewalks of the street network. According to the evaluation matrix, such infrastructure was in fair to poor condition. Next, a Pedestrian Level of Service evaluation model was developed, applying the HCM 2016 methodology in a spreadsheet that allows determining the PLOS in the current street segments and intersections. Then the redesign of the street network was done, adapting it to a Superblock by proposing improvements in the width of the sidewalks, achieving its widening and turning it into pedestrian streets with bicycle lanes this in order to improve pedestrian mobility in the area. Finally, the PLOS evaluation of the Superblock was carried out, which allowed obtaining a Level of Service “A“ for pedestrians, thus providing greater accessibility, improving trafficability and, above all, improving the quality of life of the people who walk through the Historic Center of Lima.
