The current improvised implementation of bike lanes in Lima has led to intermodal conflicts and unnecessary delays in travel times. This issue is particularly prominent in Plaza Alameda 28 de Julio, where the lack of safe and exclusive bike lanes has compromised user safety, especially during peak hours, due to the absence of a comprehensive strategy to harmonize various modes of transportation. This research proposes the implementation of the Complete Street strategy as a comprehensive approach to enhance accessibility and reduce conflicts. The goal is to harmonize diverse modes of travel, significantly reducing points of conflict and improving travel times. To assess this proposal, a study of the influence zone was conducted through surveys and samplings in a critical stretch of approximately 127.00 meters, identifying key conflict points. The microsimulation of the current state and the proposed scenario, using PTV VISSIM 9 software, allowed for model validation and calibration with the variable “travel times.“ Results indicate that the scenario based on Complete Street principles offers a substantial reduction in travel times, being 22.96% more efficient compared to the current situation. Additionally, there is a 63.33% decrease in conflict points along the proposed bike lane under Complete Street criteria. These findings support the effectiveness of the proposed strategy in enhancing mobility and safety.
