In coastal areas, the main problem in reinforced concrete structures is corrosion, which can generate fissures, cracks, detachment of steel, etc. This reduces the useful life of the structure, since they are exposed to aggressive agents. These pathologies must be repaired to avoid further damage. In this research, the bidirectional integral electro-migration methodology (BIEM) was applied, which aims to repair and reduce the agents that cause corrosion (chloride ions). The application of this methodology consists of generating an electric field in a circuit composed of an anode, cathode and an electrolyte, using a steel rod, stainless steel mesh and a solution with ph10 respectively. The system extracted the chloride ions found in the affected area of the reinforced concrete and generated a corrosion inhibitor coating, reducing the entry of chloride ions into the structure. To corroborate its performance, the reinforced concrete samples were subjected to accelerated corrosion, which were applied to 4 different groups of 3 samples each, and it was possible to verify that the application of the integral methodology of bidirectional electro migration (BS) obtained an efficiency of 100% in a period of 120 hours of testing compared to the other samples that obtained an efficiency of 53% (ND), 60% (SS) and 93% (B), demonstrating that the use of the proposed methodology gives better long-term repair results in the structures in Peru.
