Objective: To establish the relationship between the knowledge level on disinfection of study models and profession type in Lima Metropolitana, Peru. Materials and Methods: 123 dentists and 174 dental technicians were surveyed virtually. To assess the level of knowledge about the removal of dental impressions, a self-applied questionnaire was obtained that was validated (Cronbach's α =0.86). On the other hand, for the univariate analysis, the measures of absolute and relative frequencies were obtained. The Chi-square test was used for conducting bivariate analysis. Additionally, Poisson regression with a robust variance estimator was employed to assess the relationship between the variables, and prevalence ratios were reported in crude and adjusted models. Finally, a confidence level of 95% was established, with a significance level set at p < 0.05.“ Result: No association was found between the level of knowledge about the removal of dental impressions with the type of profession. Consequently, both dentists and dental technicians predominantly exhibited poor knowledge levels, with 64.37% and 60.98%, respectively. However, when comparing the correct answers between both professions on the 10 questions posed, the dental technicians showed that they responded better. Conclusions: 62.60% of the participants showed a poor level of knowledge about the elimination of study models, while 37.40% showed a moderate level of knowledge. This highlights the need for Peru to enhance and broaden knowledge in this field.
