The research work carried out focuses on the new construction of a public library in the Wanchaq district of the city of Cusco, for which the new construction of the library is proposed, to replace the current one that presents different problems that will be exposed in this research work. This new proposal for cultural equipment will be constituted under the principles of sustainability since currently all buildings must be characterized by implementing sustainable design strategies with the aim of reducing environmental impact, thus being able to contribute to reducing the environmental footprint from a professional field such as is the architecture. The pillars that commemorate sustainable architecture are: Optimization of resources and materials: With a low environmental impact, which are durable and reusable or recyclable. Reduction in energy consumption: Use of solar panels, use natural wind circulation systems and incorporate natural lighting. Renewable uses: Use of the reuse or sewage system and collection of rainwater, which located at higher levels take advantage of gravity for its distribution. Reduction of waste and emissions: Achieve a reduction in the carbon footprint of buildings. Use of natural resources: Such as natural lighting, natural ventilation. Reuse black water: For different sanitary devices such as toilets. Rainwater collection: Collection of rainwater to be reused.
