The objective of the investigation was to evaluate the mechanical resistance of a concrete mixture in the hardened state of f'c = 175 kgf/cm2 substituting 5%, 10% and 15% of Portland cement type HS for pulverized glass, the compressive strength was determined, traction and bending of a conventional concrete mix and then proceeded to compare the mechanical characteristics of both mixes. For the concrete, a mixture design f'c = 175 kgf/cm2was used; Through the mixture design, both the conventional mixture and the modified mixture were made, where 5%, 10% and 15% of the weight of Portland cement type HS was replaced by pulverized glass. The procedure began by making the conventional concrete specimens and then making the modified concrete specimens. The test carried out was the resistance to compression, traction and bending at 7, 14, and 28 days based on the National Building Regulations. Finally, we carry out the standard test for density, absorption and void percentage in hardened concrete based on the Peruvian Technical Standard. At the end of the interpretation of results, we determined that in order to obtain mechanical resistance equal to or greater than conventional concrete, cement should be replaced by ground glass up to 5% of its weight and for density, absorption and percentage of voids a maximum of 10 % agree with this research.
