The development of skin diseases is related to certain emotional factors, with stress being one of the main components. On the contrary, self-compassion allows the affected person to obtain a higher level of coping with any negative circumstance, acting with kindness and understanding towards themselves. The general objective was to identify the relationship between stress and self-compassion in people with Atopic Dermatitis (AD) in Metropolitan Lima. An empirical correlational research design with an associative strategy was proposed, which explores the relationship between the previously mentioned study variables. The sample was made up of 140 people whose ages range between 18 and 45 years, with 1 year of diagnosis. Two instruments were used: Global Perception of Stress Scale and Neff Self-Compassion Scale. Based on the analysis carried out, it was found that there is a negative correlation between the variables' factors. Regarding General Stress, the correlations were negative, strong and statistically significant, noting that only over-identification was moderate. In Eustress, the correlations reported the same except for Isolation and Over-identification. However, Distress presents moderate correlations in most dimensions of self-compassion, with the exception of Shared Humanity. It was concluded that there were no statistical differences between the study variables, according to sex in the chosen sample. There are only statistically significant differences between stress and self-compassion according to age range.
