The objective of this study was to describe the vocational choice process in young university students from metropolitan Lima with acquired physical disabilities. The approach was qualitative with a reflective thematic analysis design. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with 10 participants aged 20 to 38 years, residents of Lima, who presented some physical disability acquired before choosing a university career, and were studying at a higher education institution. The information was analyzed using the ATLAS.ti 9.1 software. The results show that the vocational choice process is subdivided into three moments: the first is the evaluation of personal strengths; in which vocational decisions are related to their concern for themselves, their emotions and the influence of their families. The second moment is the preparation for decision making; in which external factors and their experiences intervene in their vocational indecision. A third moment, are the obstacles for the vocational choice; which are economic factors and personal difficulties. It can be concluded that these three moments are part of this process, since they show an evaluation of their capacities, a moment of tension in their decision-making and an analysis of the obstacles that arise.
