Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), due to the fact that they are not obliged to mall and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), because they are not required to submit all their financial information, experience difficulties in accessing financing. This happens because financial institutions, faced with the risk of non-compliance, prefer not to grant them loans or, in any case, they grant them at very high interest rates. This is called information asymmetry and is a phenomenon suffered by SMEs worldwide. This difficulty of access to financing has been exacerbated by the recent SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, which has damaged the liquidity of companies worldwide. In response, Supply Chain Financing (SCF) has emerged as an opportunity. In this research, following a qualitative and interpretative methodology, ten small entrepreneurs in Lima-Peru were interviewed in order to analyze whether there are barriers or facilities to access Supply Chain Financing. In the context of a developing economy and with a supply of products and/or services where supply chains are underdeveloped, it can be observed that SCF theories do not find fertile ground. This leads small entrepreneurs to seek other ways of accessing financing, developing strengths, facing their threats and, at the same time, recognizing the weaknesses and opportunities offered by the market. Finally, the practical implications of the findings and the direction for future research are described and discussed.
