In this research work, the informative treatment given to mental health from three accounts on the Tik Tok social network will be analyzed. An investigation was carried out on how journalism began to address mental health issues in the media and, above all, in digital media. Therefore, the journalistic criteria with which this problem is addressed were examined and identified. On the one hand, it starts from the problematic situation making visible the objectives to be studied. On the other hand, the national and international background is developed. The impact of the Tik Tok social network since its creation is analyzed. The journalistic informative treatment is verified when reporting topics related to depression, anxiety and other disorders related to mental health. The type of research in this study is governed by a qualitative, observational and interpretive approach. For this, a review of detailed documentation and compilation of information from various authors who address said study was carried out. The discourse and language used in the videos that report on mental health were analyzed. In addition, mental health in the Peruvian context was investigated. One of the most important findings is the stereotypes and stigmatization that exists about people with mental disorders. Finally, the misinformation in Tik Tok videos misleads the audience about mental health. Causing self-medication on the part of users by consuming videos from unverified accounts or experts regarding mental health.
