The objective of this paper is to analyze the representation of the absurd in the Latin American Spanish translation of the mockumentary Cunk on Earth. For it, the absurd will be analyzed from a qualitative approach in different contexts of the object of study presented where this phenomenon is manifested both in the original version and in the official Latin American Spanish subtitled. The television series of false documentaries or mockumentaries have captured a social and cultural phenomenon in which absurd discourses are used in situations that present cultural and historical references, with the aim of attracting a wide audience, both Latin American and foreign. The mockumentary Cunk on Earth (2022) is a respective example that narrates real events but out of context, often with fictional and absurdist elements as a unique form of entertainment and social criticism. For this analysis, the following methods will be used: content analysis and textual-contrastive analysis, which will allow the analysis and comparison between the source text in English and the target text in Latin American Spanish.
