The objective of this paper is to analyze the correlation between gender diversity on the board of directors and the economic performance of Peruvian mining and industrial companies listed on the Lima Stock Exchange (BVL). To obtain the financial performance of the companies to be analyzed, the composition of the board of directors and ROA were used, being the study population 42 companies (16 mining and 26 industrial) in the period 2018-2022. Women in the country are presenting a higher degree of participation at the business level, this is due to the fact that women have more access to education and employment opportunities, thus leading them to occupy high hierarchical positions. This research focuses on a correlational-non-experimental approach, in which a quantitative analysis is used with data obtained from the Lima Stock Exchange, which shows that female participation in the board of directors expresses a direct correlation between the profitability of mining and industrial companies and gender diversity in the board of directors and profitability in Peru.
