Objective: To determine if there is an association between the practice of yoga and musculoskeletal pain in the spine in Peruvian adults. Methods: The design was observational, analytical and cross-sectional. The population was made up of adults over 18 years of age who practice yoga and those who did not practice it. The main variables were musculoskeletal pain in the spine in the last month and the practice of yoga, while the secondary variables were sex, age, marital status, educational level, occupation, body mass index (BMI), practice of physical exercise, joint pathologies and stress level. For those who did practice yoga, other variables were considered, such as years of practicing yoga, hours per week of practice, yoga style, and place of practice. Results: 238 Adults were recruited, where the majority were women (76.1%) and had a median age of 36 years. No association was found between musculoskeletal pain in the spine and the practice of yoga (RPa=0.92, 95% CI 0.76 to 1.11; p=0.385), but with occupation (p=0.015) and joint pathologies (p =0.037). Conclusion: No association was found between the practice of yoga and DME in the spine in Peruvian adults.
