The purpose of this research is to analyze the film adaptation of “Twilight“ from the narrative structure that manages the script based on the homonymous novel written by Stephenie Meyer seventeen years ago. The film was released in 2008 and was a resounding success, thus ensuring the adaptations of the next three books in the saga, in a total of five films. The love story between Bella and Edward captivated millions of people throughout the world, turning the books into best-sellers and the movies into box-office hits. Although various studies have been carried out on this phenomenon, none have addressed the issue of adaptation. The critics did not wait either and judged certain aspects of the story. However, an analysis of the film as an adaptation has never been carried out, studying the narrative structure, comparing it with the original book and seeing the audiovisual contributions to the story. Precisely, this will be the approach that the present investigation will have, it will seek to establish an appropriate way to analyze an adaptation, in this case Twilight. To do this, the various currents and theories on the analysis of adaptations and the narrative structures that are used in film scripts will be examined.
