In this research, an analysis of a double-height reinforced concrete industrial building located in Huaral, Lima, will be carried out. For this, requirements established in Peruvian regulations and procedures for determining the seismic performance established by the ATC-40, FEMA-356 and FEMA-440 codes were followed. This thesis was divided into four fundamental parts. In the first one, basic knowledge necessary to understand the static and dynamic structural analysis, as well as the nonlinear pushover analysis and the determination of structure seismic performance will be presented. In the second part, a protocol was developed with the basic considerations to take into account when obtaining field data of the structure, which provides relevant information for the study, allowing to define the real compressive strength of concrete (f’c), quantity and size of steel reinforcing bars, etc. In the third part, a linear seismic analysis was carried out as well as a verification of the resistance capacity of the structural elements, where it could be concluded that every structural element has the carrying capacity to support the new loads applied on the building but the drift limits are exceeded according to the Peruvian E.030 seismic standard. Finally, in the fourth part, a pushover analysis was applied which allowed us to determine the capacity of the structure and its performance level under different seismic demands. The main result obtained is that the structure in study won´t have the expected seismic performance because the design doesn’t meet the “strong column-weak beam” concept.
