South Park: The Stick of Truth is a video game launched in 2014 on the Steam, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. In this videogame, as well as in the overall franchise, there is an abundance of what is known as foul and offensive language. A lack of academic literature about neither Latin American video game localization nor foul and offensive language has been identified. Therefore, an annotated translation will be carried out towards neutral Spanish, with an emphasis on foul and offensive language, and an analysis will be conducted on the localization process of foul and offensive language of the dialogues of the video game in question. Foul and offensive language tends to be neutered in neutral Spanish, but for this video game this type of language will be maintained as much as possible due to it being an essential aspect of the video game. Regarding the methodology, the investigation will be divided in three stages: the first one related to a pre-translation analysis by means of identifying extra and intertextual factors, the second one about the compilation of translation logs to thoroughly document the process, and the third one is a contrastive analysis between the source and target texts through communicative functions to see if they were maintained after the translation process.
