This research aimed to identify the perceptions of educational assistants about hospital pedagogy in a hospital classroom program of a national health institute in Lima, and somehow make visible the current situation of hospital pedagogy in Peru. The participants, voluntary educational assistants, perceive hospital pedagogy as a fundamental right of children. As well as, they mention the existing gap in the execution of hospital pedagogy in the country related to the challenges caused by the scarcity of resources and limited infrastructure in hospitals, the lack of personnel trained in hospital pedagogy and the lack of coordination and collaboration. between the different actors involved. Likewise, it is intended to explore the perceptions of volunteer educational assistants about hospital pedagogy and the existing barriers in its implementation. Based on this analysis, recommendations will be sought to improve educational care in hospital settings, including staff training and strengthening interdisciplinary coordination. For this, an exploratory phenomenological qualitative study was carried out based on 12 semi-structured interviews, analyzed through the identified categories and dimensions.
