Freedom of the press, mistreatment, and obstacles to the journalistic exercise, a problem that is shown in this research document. Under the crisis that Peruvian journalism has been going through, this work exposes the importance of freedom of the press in a state of law, based on the arguments of different authors and sources. In addition, the possible reasons why the press has been the product of attacks, aggressions, and insults by a sector of the population that shares the same ideological positions as the party that brought Pedro Castillo (Free Peru) to office, and which is partly encouraged by the President of the Republic himself in his speeches. The mistreatment and the obstacles to the journalistic exercise have been increasing more and more since the beginning of the mandate of the current administration. Press men have been attacked, harassed, and have even reported the theft of their work equipment on different occasions during the exercise of their work in public spaces. In this document, the different attacks, and obstacles to the professional practice of journalists put by the current government are analysed.
