One of the main problems that affects SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) is the deficiency in their production processes. This problem can be caused by various factors, among which we can mention the lack of organization of their work areas and high production times due to bottlenecks. To solve this problem, an improvement proposal was made combining the use of the Lean 5S tool and redesign through Systematic Layout Planning (SLP). The use of these tools seeks to optimize the areas available to the company of the case study as well as optimizing the times used for transport or waiting. For this reason, from a pilot test and a simulation with the Arena software, it was possible to obtain that the distances of transfer were reduced by 13,228 meters per month. Likewise, it was determined that the production capacity, as a result of the proposed changes, increased by 25%, since the standard production time was reduced by 4.51 minutes per product. Finally, with the partial results obtained, which as main result was an increase in line efficiency by 15.95%.
