The purpose of this investigation is to determine the impact of the fiscal rule and its implication with applicable taxes on social media influencers from Lima Metropolitana. This project is relevant because recently, people called influencers who have numerous followers on social media, which make an impact on consumers. So, brands have now turned towards these social media influencers to market their products and/or services. Up to now there hasn’t been a clear way how to report taxes for this type of business. Therefore, a study is being conducted into how social media influencers should be taxed. The objective of the study is to address the main taxes ruled by the Tributary Code, which are the Value-added Tax (VAT), locally known as Impuesto General a las Ventas (IGV) and Income Tax as Impuesto a la Renta, while also, taking into consideration the national tributary guidelines and legislations regarding this matter. Finally, as an international interest, comparing with other tributary legislations from neighbor in Latin American countries and Europe to analyze the taxation for social media influencers. In order to validate the hypothesis, qualitative and quantitative tools were applied. Additionally, interviews were conducted to experts who discuss the tax subject in the mass media. Lastly, polls were given via questionnaire to a variety of influencers from Lima Metropolitana whose platforms are used by different national business companies.
