This research delves into the arguments that challenge the resource pool assumption in studies on economics of the family. The literature reviewed presents the individual preferences and utilities of household members as the main factors of differentiated effects; however, the gender of the head of household and the non-wage income received by them are recurrent arguments in the studies presented. According to it, this paper seeks to evaluate the impact of a conditional cash transfer income, such as the received through the program JUNTOS, on an indicator of household well-being: child health. In addition, a group analysis of households with head of household and with female head of household is carried out, to include a gender differentiated analysis. Using the propensity score matching methodology, control variables were used to compare urban households that were beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of the JUNTOS program, obtaining as a result a differentiated effect of the income received in the case of female heads of household, who presented a higher index of child health.
