Translation Studies research about the emotional-related aspects of interpreting has been addressed since the early 21st century. Thus, many studies, within the Interpreting Studies field, have been conducted about the emotional impact in community interpreters when working in violence, war and legal settings. In the current research we will address the context of Prior Consultation, a branch of community interpreting, which exploration is limited up to now, and which also has characteristics that make it especially conflictive, such as the asymmetry of powers and the conflict of interests between the State and indigenous communities. From a qualitative approach and adopting the socio-constructivist paradigm, the aim of the research is to identify the emotions experienced by indigenous language interpreters in Prior Consultation processes in Peru, as well as the coping techniques that can be applied. In order to develop the research, it is proposed to carry out semi-structured interviews, which will be conducted with indigenous language interpreters who have taken part in Prior Consultation processes.
