This research work demonstrated the perceptions of directors of private educational institutions in Lima regarding leadership practices guided by emotional intelligence. A qualitative investigation was carried out and semi-structured interviews were carried out with 5 managers. From them, 2 categories are distinguished that involve the entire investigation. Regarding the first category, educational leadership, it is highlighted that it is extremely important that the manager have a clear and comprehensive concept about the institution he leads, for a constant search for improvement and growth, being one of the determining factors. for the integral development of the institution. Likewise, the importance of promoting collaborative leadership is evident. According to the results of the second category, emotional intelligence in managerial practice, they highlight that being emotionally intelligent is to achieve a bond and commitment first with oneself to relate in a relevant way with others. In addition, the leadership of the manager who maintains emotional intelligence will be able to perform and have a positive impact on the entire educational community.
