The objective of this work is to develop the autonomous maintenance and planned maintenance pillars of the Total Productive Maintenance strategy, in order to improve the availability of the sealing equipment of a bag production plant. It is necessary to highlight that the plant has five main processes, the reception of raw material, mixing, extrusion, sealing and packaging. For this reason, the machine stoppage time throughout the process was analyzed, resulting in that, in the sealing area, 42% of machine stoppage hours are for corrective maintenance reasons, which in turn results in higher availability. average of 83%. This value is far from the goal of 93% set by the organization. After the implementation of the pillars of Total Productive Maintenance, the equipment availability increased by 13%, the breakdowns in critical equipment decreased by 83%, and the coil processing time decreased by 7.8%.
