The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between the acceptance of sexual violence myths and gender roles in university students in Peru. It was considered the participation of 190 young people from universities in Lima Metropolitan from 18 to 26 years (M= 20.20; DE = 1.22); 70.5% are women and 29.5% are men. The scale of Acceptance of Myths on Janos and Espinosa Sexual Violence (2015) and the Scale of Gender and Diversity Roles (Saldivar et al., 2015) were administered. The results reveal that the dimensions of stereotyped female roles (rw= .41) and stereotyped male roles (rw= .48) present a direct relationship of moderate magnitude, while the traditional roles for men and women present a large magnitude (rw= .51). In addition, the comparisons according to sex indicate that the scores of all the dimensions are higher for men. In conclusion, there is a relationship between the acceptance of myths about sexual violence and gender roles, where a greater relationship is found between the acceptance of myths and the awarding of typically masculine characteristics to men.
