The lack of research and development of sustainable construction projects is one of the factors that are affecting the population of Peru. In Peru, investment in research and development reaches 0.08% of GDP, environmental pollution generated by plastic waste is one of the problems that has been affecting the country. “In Peru, an average of 23 thousand tons of garbage are produced daily, of which eight thousand are generated in Lima“ (RPP, 2018, párr. 1). For the validation of this project, the differences that exist in cost, behavior and useful life of the asphalt mixture with PET additions will be shown by means of the Marshall method. Likewise, the mechanical properties of a conventional asphalt mix and a modified asphalt mix will be compared. Finally, tables will be developed where the tests carried out with their respective results will be shown, showing the improvement of the modified asphalt mixture.
