This research proposes a model for improving productivity in a small and medium-sized company in the chemical sector dedicated to the manufacture of coatings in the city of Lima. The problem identified is the low productivity in the production processes, mainly due to a non-standardized work method and long set-up times, which causes non-compliance in the demand for orders. A review and analysis of more than 50 scientific articles verified by entities of great international prestige such as Scopus and Scimago was carried out, this allowed supporting the ideas proposed. According to the literature, the main causes of the problem in the diagnosis of production processes were analyzed through study of times, tables, graphs and diagrams of process activities, to then propose the proposed solution techniques through lean manufacturing to solve these problems. The main objective of this research is to establish a model to increase productivity through the implementation of Lean manufacturing with process standardization tools and SMED. The proposal was validated by simulating the production system with improved times and activities to confirm the reduction of unproductive times and therefore if productivity is increased. The results show that after implementing Lean manufacturing, productivity increases by 12,9%.
